This is my 2nd year coaching XC at RDPS. Last season Lobos took 2nd overall (Girls). It was an awesome year for myself working alongside Mr. Casillas(Boys took 3rd). I see a lot of new talent and I am always rooting for the back of the pack. I thoroughly enjoy cheering for the underdogs. Our returning athletes are very competitive and ready to bring the heat. Looking forward to another strong season!

I have been teaching Physical education at Rancho for the past 12 years. The last 6 years I have coached the girls tennis team. We have seen many students come through the tennis program learning the rules and enjoying themselves on the tennis team.
🏐 Israel Flores - J.V. Girls Volleyball 🏐
This is my first year as the JV Girls Volleyball Coach at RDPS. I have previous coaching experience, including middle school football. During my high school career, I played football and volleyball and earned All League honors in both sports (1st team football linebacker, Outside hitter for Volleyball). I also played for Valley College, earning recognition as 1st team all conference.
🏐 Angel Rivera - Girls Volleyball 🏐
This is my first year as the Head Coach. I have been at RDPS for several years, starting as a volunteer coach. In my third year with the RDPS Girls team, we made it to CIF and won a championship. Girls Volleyball has had success in winning CIF Division 4 and 5 titles. Some of my players have went on to play club and off to collegiate volleyball. During my high school career, I played competitive volleyball ,soccer and basketball, I fell in love with volleyball and stuck with it. I also coach club volleyball. I plan on returning back to school to get a degree in Kinesiology.

This is my first year coaching at RDPS. I have prior experience, playing at South East High varsity soccer team, where we won a CIF Championship.
⚽ Chad Gomez - Varsity Boys Soccer ⚽
I have coached at RDPS for five years. One of our alumni, Nathaniel Gomez(Class of 2020) currently plays at Vanguard University. I have previously coached club teams.
🏀 Gary Naylor - JV Boys Basketball 🏀
I have been coaching basketball for 8 year. I was previously at Compton High School coaching freshman/sophomore & JV basketball. As a Coach, my teams have won two Moore league titles at the freshman/sophomore level.
🏀 Anthony Thomas - Varsity Basketball 🏀
I have 17 years coaching of coaching experience; this is my 2nd year at RDPS. As a Coach in Compton Unified, my teams have earned 4 Moore League Titles. I have been named Coach of the Year, two times. After playing for me, I have had over 20 players move on to play college D1, over a dozen move on to play college D2or D3. I have also coached a player who has played in the NBA, and earned All Star recognition, and a USA Olympic Gold Medal.

The last 12 years I have taught physical education at Rancho. During that time I have also coached the Girls Swim team. Previously I coached 5 years at Dorsey where I also taught. During my time at Rancho, we have competed at City Prelims every year. We have also had individuals qualify for City Finals.

⚾ Peter Alcantar - Varsity Baseball ⚾
This is my 2nd year of coaching at RDPS. I am a home grown coach - a RDP alumni, who attended all 4 years here. During my high school career, I played and helped mold this program. To transition from player to coach is exciting. This last season went great. Our program made our 1st post season appearance in 4 years, and got a playoff win under our belt. Now our hopes are to keep taking a step forward and hopefully get our 1st CIF championship.

This is my 2nd year of coaching at RDPS. I have been coaching for over 25 years, with experiences at Torrance High, Harbor Teacher Prep and Port of Los Angeles High School.
